Three Things Thursday 3/20/14

Somehow I always have 3 things to blog about until I actually sit down to blog.  But it's Thursday, and it looks like I'm not the only one with a little writer's block judging from Heidi's post.  Here's hoping something comes to me as I type...

1)  I was a sorority girl.  I know, that probably surprises some of y'all.  I'm a Pi Phi, and thanks to the wonders of Facebook, I'm able to keep in touch with my sisters in a way I never was very good at when I first graduated and we all went our separate ways.  It turns out several of us have children on the Autism Spectrum, and one of my sisters wrote a great FB post this past week for Autism Awareness that helped to reunite several of us on some common ground beyond what we shared in college.  Here is one of my pictures from the sorority composite for your entertainment ;-).

2) We're in a rental house here in NC, but we decided to go ahead and start a garden.  A small one.  My friend has turned me on to Back to Eden Gardening, and I'm super excited to give it a full go, but for now I'll settle for using the basic idea but doing it in raised beds and containers that are portable and/or temporary.  We did buy a peach tree to grow in a container for now, and 4 blueberry plants to try to keep alive in containers for the short term too.  I figure it's Biblical...God brings the rain to the person who actually prepares the fields, right?  On that note, if you could join us in praying that our FL house would sell, that would be awesome!

3)  I've been getting out and about with my camera a little more.  It's therapeutic.  Of course, then I have to come home and deal with all the pictures I shoot...and I have to face the reality that my eyes are getting bad and about half of what looks like it's in focus looking through the view finder and even as a 4x6 on my screen is SOOOO not in focus when I make it bigger than that.  Sigh...time for some new glasses or contacts.  Here are a couple that passes inspection.

I always find your lists very fun to read, so don't stop (even if you think you have nothing to write!) Your pictures are gorgeous!
