Summer Vacation Part 3
Besides hosting the reunion picnic at his house, and boarding my family, and getting his younger son off to Boys State, my Uncle opened a hot dog stand on Monday. It is really an indoor sit-down sort of place, so "stand" doesn't do it justice. And they also have hamburgers and ice cream. It's called R.E.D.S. Hots. R is for my Uncle Ray, E for Everett, D for Daniel, and S for Sandi-clever, no? THere used to be a honey place called Wixson's in that building, and it was a staple attractino for years and years as they had a hive with clear walls that you could see into. The hive is gone, but my uncle still sells the honey.

and I got a decent picture of all the kids, although Mimi is kind of smearking.
And this picture below just makes me laugh, so I thought I'd share.

Because life wasn't busy enough with all that going on, they also opened a consignment shop on Wednesday. Mimi and I went shopping there, and Mimi got a cute shirt (she's wearing it in later pictures at the parade with Jennie's family) and a hat, and I got a painting I have covetted for over a decade. My uncle was kind an gifted it to me, and I could not be more excited. I'll post pictures another time since I don't have any taken digitally, but will fix that as soon as it's on my wall!
Before we visited Keuka Quality Consignment, we went letterboxing. We visited a gorgeous little private chapel that's only open for 3 hours a day, two days a week during 4 months of summer. The area was just breathtaking, but so heavily treed and steep that I have no good pictures of the property. The chapel did have amazing stained glass windows though:
