A new computer and a renewed passion

Ok, so I'm up and running again on my new computer. It's only my 4th or 5th for the year. Actually, it's new to me, as it was my husband's until a few weeks ago. It seems to run great...just give it a few days in my possession though...that will be the true test ;-)

Because I now have plenty of memory, and because we have so many beautiful flowers in our garden right now, I spent some time today taking photos. I LOVE taking pictures, and it's been a while since I've gotten to play with my telephoto lens. Sorry to bore you to tears, but I thought I'd share some. The overcast conditions really made the flowers stand out, and all the colors are real and not retouched. I could have toned them down a bit, but I wanted you to see how brilliant the colors really are. Oh, and of course there are pics of the kids! Hope you enjoy!

This is the same flower as the one above. See how flat it looks from this perspective, but how raised the middle really is?

Oh, and with the new computer I lost all my bookmarks for now, so if you have a blog, I once again have no idea how to find you. Send me an e-mail with your blog address!

Beautiful pictures! I'm with chewhi-not boring! The flowers are so vibrant. You should try to enter one of those in the fair. Great pictures of the kids too. I like how they are arranged. How in the world did you do that?
I'm glad you finally have a good computer. I hope that this one will have a long and happy life.

It's a Canon Rebel XT. It's obviously digital, and is an 8MB...the newer ones are 10. The lens is what really helps. It's a Tamron 70-300mm with a tele-macro (1:2). The drawback to that lens is the focal length is about 3 feet, and it's a big zoom, so you can't take pictures of, say, people doing something as a group without being WELL back from them. BUT, on the flip side, in Macro, you can get up close to stuff and see every little detail.

I like Canon cameras... my point and shoot digital is a Canon Powershot and I'm thinking I'll stick with Canon when I go SLR.
