Gee, I wonder why?

I'm tired. Really tired. Maybe it's 'cause I went to bed last night at 2AM? You think? I guess that would actually mean I went to bed this morning at 2AM, but you know what I mean. So what kept me up that late/early? My Enemy's Cradle by Sara someone. That is one good book. I really enjoyed it. It was one of those that you just had to finish. The story just stuck with you. And while it's not based on specific people, it's based on a true part and disturbing Nazi practice. (Did they have any non-disturbing practices? I think not.)
Anyway, this book has to do with all the babies that they encouraged women to have to build up the aryan population and the facilities they kept these expectant moms in. I love historical fiction, especially when told well, as this story was. I suspect the book might have been Aunt Fannie's because I found a Mary Englebreit Calendar piece in the book, but maybe it wasn't. It came from Bella's yard sale. It's up for grabs if anyone wants to borrow it.
The recent book I read that I did NOT love was In the Beginning by Chaim Potok. Aunt Fannie said she read his books a long time ago and had gotten this one and was going to read it, but hadn't gotten to it yet. I can save her the trouble. REALLY SLOW, and not even really interesting. Yet I read the whole thing hoping that it would eventually get better. It didn't.
Oh well, my boys are home so I have to go.

Thanks for saving me the trouble of reading that book. :0)
The other one sounds great, I'd like to read it after Randi Sue.
