Circus Time!
My boss at Lake Family Magazine happened to get a bunch free tickets to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. She made them available to employees and some close friends. We got to go last night with my sister, Bam Bam, and a bunch of other friends. Here are a few pictures:
The circus was the best we've ever seen, and the kids loved it. The FREE pre-show was full of lots of opportunities for them to experience the circus up close and personally. The whole experience was wonderful, except perhaps the shameless price gouging for food and drinks. The popcorn was $9, the cotton candy $12, and a glass of lemonade was $9! Insane!!! Luckily, we brought a little treat in with us-each child had a few pieces of halloween candy and a holiday rice crispy treat I got for .15 cents each at CVS. It was enough to keep them from wanting something else. We were all thirsty, but $9 a drink times 5 of us is NOT in the budget, so good old fashioned water from the water fountains had to do. We stopped on the way home for some .99 cent Arizona Fruit Punch drinks and everyone was happy ;-).
