A Twisted Nativity Story

Regular readers of my blog will remember our previous nativity shenanigans. You can read about them HERE.

So tonight, I came home to find yet another twisted nativity story.

I should explain a bit. First, we have two children's nativities: a precious moments one, and the one from One 2 Believe that is featured in the story above. And this year, they are both sharing a table with My Little Ponies.

Very holy, I know.

I got a My Little Pony Advent calendar last year on clearance after Christmas, and Sari has LOVED opening it up and seeing the daily gifts. And since they are tee-ni-ny, I require them to stay on the table...hence the shared set up. Which means in addition to the usual donkeys and camels, our nativities have purple ponies in skirts and pink Pegasuses...It's good that God has a sense of humor.

So above is the whole scene...but it bears a little closer inspection...

Looks like the PM folks are hangin' with the O2B angels...and the animals are having a party...but something seems to be wrong with some of the ponies...I wonder if they have passed out upon realising that baby Jesus is missing???

Over at the O2B nativity the fainting plague continues...and who is THAT that Mary is adoring? It's not baby Jesus...could it be Tiny Tim? Such a good lad. Always willing to lend a hand.

For the record the O2B Jesus has gone missing (does this happen to other people, or are we the ONLY family who loses Jesus every year???), but this pint sized dude works in a pinch.

Someone's having some punch...and what a cute little baby girl that is taking a nap...
Oh.
wait.
That's NOT a girl...

It's poor little Jesus. No wonder the animals were all passed out. They KNEW what my darling little girl was up to, and they wanted no part in it. Yes, this is the PM Jesus wearing a My Little Pony wig. I know the Bible tells us that Jesus got no respect and that He was despised and rejected, but somehow I don't think THIS was part of the original manger scene.

Too funny--at the risk of being sacreligious, the only thing I could think is that Jesus perhaps had too much adult-only punch!

Laughing hysterically! We have our own nativity-mayhem every single year--desperately looking for a pic I took when my oldest was two--an NFL action figure joined the scene. It was the first of many additions! :)
Merry Christmas!

I was going to say baby Jesus isn't there yet because it isn't Christmas. Our mangers are all missing the baby Jesus until Christmas day! Oh and the three wise kings also!!
So cute. My little girls love playing with the mangers also.

So fun! Did you happen to see Buzz Lightyear peeking in on the Nativity in my blog header?

Apparently, I've been spending too much time on Facebook. I kept looking for the "like" button.
