Funnies from today

Our fortune cookie from dinner said, "You have a very lively family." You think?

You know you watch too much TV, especially of one particular show, when your 2 1/2 year old sings her ABC's as A-B-C-S-I, LOL.

In our house, if mommy has to help you open something, she charges a one bite (or one sip) "mommy tax". TJ and Sari both get confused and think we are calling it a "mommy attack". So just now, I was loading the dishwasher, and I hear Sari playing with her snack in the other room so I stop and peek in and listen. She has a teddy graham in each hand, and is making one of them "say" to the other, "Oh no, mommy attack...aahhhhhhh."

TOO FUNNY!

I am SO glad to know I am not the only Mom that follows the Mommy Tax rule. I have had some guilt over this in the past. Now I can assure the kids that I am "normal" after all. Your day was pretty funny. I love it!

Why is there a "Mommy tax" RULE? I don't get it! EXCEPT that when Rach came to me today asking me to open her dark chocolate bar I was THRILLED to intoduce the Mommy tax rule. It backfired though...she was more than happy to give it to me and I don't even LIKE dark chocolate!

I started the mommy tax to explain why I took the first sip out of every juice box/capri sun they ever drank. It was more for practicality so they were not as likely to spill, but now it's just fun, and it encourages them to try to open it on their own unless they want to be subject to mommy tax, so they are more likely to try it themselves.

Our Mommy Tax follows mainly the juice boxes, and not so much snacks. When my kiddos are little, a full 8 oz. is too much for them! That's like me drinking a Super Big Gulp in 1/2 an hour. Bigger kids have bigger bladders. And my last 2 kids as little ones didn't need too much to drink when they were out of diapers (and pull-ups) at barely 2 yrs. old. (Don't worry. I'm not bragging....H was a full 3 1/2 yrs. before he was daytime potty-trained, and several more years of nighttime pull-ups.)
