2012 in Review- July

Mimi went to her first-ever sleep away summer camp.  It was somewhat local--only about 40 minutes from our house, and Christian, which was a major reason for giving it a try. Also, one of her best friends went with her, so that sealed the deal.   She got to pick 2 activities to do for the week, and she chose canoeing and knee boarding/water skiing.  They also did archery, riflery, devotions, and other things.  Since I wasn't with her, I don't have very many pictures, but here are a few from drop-off, and one her cabin mate took of her doing archery.

Camp was just before the movie Brave came out, and everyone called her Merida the whole time.  Her hair, though not actually red, is very similar to Merida's and apparently, she wasn't half bad at archery either.

We had some animals very keen on eating all the food for our outdoor animals.  We have frequently had raccoons, but this we think was a small bear.  It was able to lift a cinderblock off the food container and BREAK it!  Consequently, the Hubs then built alcatraz to hold the food.  I'll have to take a picture of it, but it really works.

We again participated in Cow Day at Chick-fil-a.

Sari tried a craft from Family Fun--painting sticks to look like animals.

And lastly, we went bowling with friends:
