Best Part of My Day-December 12
We went to the zoo with one family we knew already, and two other families we met for the first time that day. The Asheboro zoo is a distance, but it's worth it. First, they let homeschoolers in for FREE (cool, right?), and second, it's just a really well done zoo. We weren't sure given that the day started below freezing and the high was only 55 how many animals we would see, but they were all out and very "see-able" as you can tell from a few of the pictures below.
This is the savanna. We arrived here just a feeding time, and got to watch a very aggressive ostrich chase the food truck-good times. There were elephants and large and small herd animals like Thompson's Gazelles too.
So getting to explore the new-to-us zoo with some new and not so new to us friends? Best part of my day.
